Meet Alison

Dr. Alison Luedecke is a vibrant musician who is passionate about sharing her love of music with everyone — congregations, audience members, colleagues, and students. Her church and concert programs are uniquely designed to engage the listeners and performers. She is a consummate performer, excelling as a solo organist, collaborative ensemble musician, orchestral player, church musician, and teacher. She received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of David Craighead.

As an ensemble musician, she is a founding member and harpsichordist/organist with San Diego Baroque. This collaborative ensemble was created to highlight the members’ enthusiasm and expertise in Baroque music. It is the only San Diego based instrumental ensemble featuring period instruments and local musicians, presenting Baroque music on period-style instruments. Additionally, as an orchestral musician, she performs regularly with the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra and the California Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Luedecke delights in playing solo and collaborative concerts and has performed across the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and in France- twice at Notre Dame de Paris.

Her church music ministry has included positions as Director of Liturgical Music for the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Rochester, New York, and San Diego, and at the cathedral and parish levels. Currently, she serves as Organist/Choir Director at the Church of the Nativity, Rancho Santa Fe, where she directs a professional vocal quartet and the children’s choir. She serves as Organ Consultant for Nativity’s new pipe organ by Casavant Frères, scheduled for installation in the spring of 2026.
(not June of 2025)

As a teacher, Dr. Luedecke strives to provide a nurturing learning environment in order to help students fully expand their musical gifts and skills. Dr. Luedecke served as University Organist and Artist Teacher of Organ and Harpsichord at the University of Redlands from 2017-2021.
